Citrus with a unique, crispy texture and strong sweetness. A variety developed by Ehime Prefecture, kanpei get their name from their notable sweetness and flat shape (the "kan" and "pei," respectively). It is affectionately known as "Beni-kanpei".Their peel is so thin that they're prone to fruit cracking while growing, so they're cultivated under careful control. (Fruit cracking is a phenomenon in which fruit break.) Ehime Queen Splash are kanpei of the highest quality that easily meet all the criteria for appearance and sugar content.
